Our Church Challenge

Welcome to the web page for Cornwall Baptist Church.  We are delighted that you have chosen to view our ministry.  I would like to ask you to consider the concept of the written word.  Words are powerful and can be used to build one up or tear one down.  We are cautious with the words we choose, lest we have them brought back to bear on us.

Knowing this, I would like to ask you to ponder the greatest Word ever given to man.  John 1:1 declares, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”  As John opens his Gospel, he declares to the reader that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Living Word of God.  Jesus Christ came so that we might know the way to eternal life.  Hebrews 1:1-3 declares, “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds; Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the Word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on High.”

God spoke to the prophets by dreams and visions, but now He has sent His Son in the likeness of sinful man so that we might have eternal life.  The Word in John 1 is the Lord Jesus Christ, who is declared in Hebrews 1.  The greatest Word ever given to man is the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.  He was given to man, so that man might have eternal life with God above.

Have you ever considered the living Word?  Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your own personal Savior?  Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”  Acts 16:31 “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.”  Salvation may only be found through the Living Word of God.  This is the greatest Word that has ever been given to man.  Will you today receive the gift of eternal life found only as you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.  No matter how many words you try, there is only one Name who saves, Jesus Christ.

Our Church Concern

There are many attacks being made upon the family all around us. As a local church, we are oriented around the family, believing that strong churches are built by strong families. For this cause, all of our programs are designed to strengthen both our physical and spiritual family. We offer Sunday School for all ages, from the nursery to the adults. These classes are to be an extension of what should already be being taught within the home, and are not to be a replacement of the parents’ responsibility. Our services on Sunday are designed to help us grow in our relationship with our Lord. They provide opportunity to worship Him through the songs we sing, the testimonies we share, and the offering we give to Him. We cater our services around the preaching of the Word of God. Our Wednesday services are a special time to uphold the family in prayer. We spend time around the Bible, and then separate into groups to pray for each other. We invite you to join with our family in the worship of our God here at Cornwall Baptist Church.

Our Church Commitment

We are a Fundamental, Bible-believing Church. We believe that God has inspired and preserved His Holy Word for us. The Bible is taught and preached in all our services, and the Lord Jesus Christ is given the preeminence. It is our desire to declare the truth of the Gospel and to see people come to know Him as their personal Saviour. (Ephesians 2:8) It is our privilege to disciple and teach believers God’s Holy Word. We endeavor to teach the great doctrines of the Bible in all aspects of our ministry. It is our desire that we all would grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 3:18 It is our responsibility to “earnestly contend for the faith” (Jude 1:3). We must remain faithful to God’s Word. As Fundamentalists, we stand upon the Bible as our sole authority.
